2021

Year two of the COVID Pandemic!  Dog shows started springing up again but not in Illinois.  We needed to travel to neighboring states.  But there were still some shining stars.  Tommy went to the Florida circuit and became a Grand Champion and finished January as the #1 Bouvier.  He qualified and attended Westminster Kennel Club in Tarrytown, New York.  It was a quick fun trip and he was Select Dog.  Tommy was shown a few more weekends, placing in the Group and qualifying for Top 20 at the National.  Sassy became CH Margaux's Speak of the Devil at the Waukesha, WI shows.  Skip & Joanne Beyer made Walker CH Margaux's Fast and Furious.  Terry Burian finished a championship title on Munchie, CH Terra Margaux's Rise and Shine, and David Yasutake finished Cooper, CH Terra Margaux's No Stopping Me Now.

Jean Nocilly was busy with Painter and Dillon,  Dillon earned scentwork titles, his CD and Rally Excellent, Margaux's Gunsmoke CD BN RE HSAds HIAds HXAd SWA SCAE SIE.  Painter earned his Draft Dog title and his UD title (WOW!) and was Reserve High in Trial in Herding, earning his first herding championship points, CH Margaux's Paint By Numbers UD PCDX BN RE TD HSAd HIAds HXAdc HSAsMcM HIAcM DD.    Nancy Swenson continued working on Cinder's champion points in herding, CH Margaux's Picture Perfect at Skrattegaard CDX BN GN RM RAE HSAds HIAds HXAds NAP NJP NFP DD, earning a High in Trial on the way.  Nancy also put  two Rally titles on Jessie, Margaux's Riding The Rails To Skrattegaard CD BN RN.  Both Jean and Nancy qualified for the AKC National Obedience trial in Florida.  Nancy Macklin's Scarlett earned her Herding Started title in sheep, her Draft Dog title, and all her agility wins qualified her for the AKC Agility National, Margaux's What A Pistol RN HSAs FDC MX MXJ NAP OJP XF NFP NDD CGC TKI.  Leslie McFarland also qualified for the Agility National with Quinn, Margaux's Shooting The Breeze At Adara CD MXP2 MJP.  Joanne Shaffer completed Sako's Rally Novice, CD and Agility Novice Jumpers, as well as Herding Started and a High in Trial, Margaux's Take Your Best Shot II CD BN RA HSAs NAP OJP NFP CGC TKN.  Joanne's Slate continued to compete in agility earning more legs, Margaux's Fire When Ready CDX BN RE HSAs NAP OJP OFP TKN.  Deborah Abeles earned two Rally titles on Danny, Margaux's Danny Get Your Gun BN RN CGC TKN. The AKC National in December was sponsored by Royal Canin.  I traveled to Florida with Tommy (GCH Margaux’s Saturday Night Special at Terra) and his daughter Courtney, Margaux's Confetti.  Tommy was Select dog and Courtney was Winner's bitch.  Luca also amazed us all, shown by Greg Reyna and owned by Priscilla Martin.  He was Winners Dog/Best of Winners earning two five-point majors and a Group 2 in the Puppy Stakes.  What an outstanding weekend!

2020

The year of the Pandemic!  COVID canceled the National and most all competition after February 2020.  A few outside venues were able to hold competitions by fall, but not much was happening while everyone self-isolated.

Nonetheless, there were some shining stars!  Chase qualified for the Top 20 as the #5 dog in breed.  Two of his sons finished their championships.  Louie became CH Margaux’s Marksman and Tommy became CH Margaux’s Saturday Night Special at Terra.  At the January shows, Chrissy and Emmy were awarded their championships becoming CH Terra Margaux’s No Stopping Me Now and CH Margaux’s Play With Fire.  Later at a summer show, Taro earned his GCH becoming GCH Margaux's Joker In the Pack.

The AKC National in December was sponsored by Royal Canin.  I traveled to Florida with Dave & Annette Aughenbaugh, taking Ginger (GCH Margaux’s Aim for the Stars) and Tommy (CH Margaux’s Saturday Night Special at Terra).  Ginger qualified for the National Owner Handled Competition as she was ranked in the top 10 dogs.  She was awarded breed in the NOHS competition defeating the #1 Owner Handled Dog and then onto taking Select Bitch in the Breed competition.  Tommy surprised me too ..... He was awarded Best of Breed as the the youngest dog in the ring and the newest special!  What a wonderful weekend!

We sure look forward to getting back to some sense of normalcy for 2021.  Fingers crossed!
